Kim Jong-un was elected as the General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The 9th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea continued on February 22nd, during which the congress discussed and amended the Party Charter, and elected members of the central leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea. The congress expressed full support and approval for the proposal to re-elect Kim Jong Un as the highest position in the Workers' Party of Korea, electing him as General Secretary of the Party. During the meeting, members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea were elected. Kim Jong Un, Pak Thae Song, Choe Ryong Hae, and Ri Ryong Nam were among the 139 members of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea elected.
