Mexican drug lord killed, United States issues security warning
The leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel in Mexico, "El Mencho," was killed in an operation involving the Mexican army on the 22nd of this month. On the same day, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, and Alaska Airlines also announced the suspension of flights to Puerto Vallarta until further notice. "El Mencho," 56, is one of the top wanted criminals by the Mexican and American governments. The United States listed the Jalisco New Generation Cartel as a terrorist organization in 2025.
