The US East Coast will face another strong winter storm, airlines have begun canceling flights.
The East Coast of the United States is about to face another strong winter storm, with US airlines already starting to cancel Sunday flights and waiving fees for refunds and flight changes for airports along the Virginia to Maine corridor. This test comes right at the end of winter break. Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, United Airlines, and Spirit Airlines have all waived related fees and fare differences, with passengers able to reschedule their flights for travel by February 26 at the latest. Southwest Airlines has stated that passengers can reschedule or standby within two weeks without paying fare differences. According to the forecast from the National Weather Service, some areas in southern Connecticut and southeastern New York could expect 13 to 18 inches of snow, with gusts reaching up to 55 miles per hour. Blizzard warnings will go into effect at 6 a.m. Eastern Time on Sunday.
