Xiamen welcomes its first inbound cruise ship, kicking off the "Cruise Season" in 2026.

On the afternoon of February 19th, the third day of the Lunar New Year, the "Navigation Star" cruise ship, carrying more than 2,000 passengers, slowly docked at the Xiamen International Cruise Terminal, marking the beginning of the 2026 Xiamen "Cruise Season". In recent years, Xiamen's cruise tourism has been gaining popularity. According to statistics, in 2025, the Xiamen Maritime Bureau efficiently and smoothly served 92 cruise ships entering and leaving, with a passenger throughput of 130,000 at the Xiamen Port, representing year-on-year increases of over 48% and 37%, respectively. It is predicted that in 2026, during the "Cruise Season", Xiamen Port will receive approximately 100 cruise ship dockings, with the passenger throughput expected to exceed 150,000.
