Expert in Laser and Optoelectronics, Academician Zhou Bingkun passed away.

On February 20th, Tsinghua University issued an obituary: Comrade Zhou Bingkun, a member of the Communist Party of China, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, one of the founders and pioneers in the field of laser and optoelectronics in China, an outstanding scientist and educator, and a professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University, passed away in Beijing at 0:54 on February 19, 2026, at the age of 90, after medical treatment was ineffective.
