A Chinese research team has developed an AI medical system that can accurately diagnose rare diseases with thorough supporting evidence.

On the early morning of February 19th, Professor Sun Kun and Professor Yu Yongguo from the affiliated Xinhua Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, led a team with Professor Zhang Ya and Associate Professor Xie Weidi from Shanghai Jiao Tong University to jointly develop an artificial intelligence system that can diagnose rare diseases. The related achievements were published on February 19th in the top international journal "Nature". This system, named DeepRare, is hailed as the world's first "traceable reasoning" rare disease intelligent doctor.
