Two departments have sent inspection teams to the scene to supervise the handling of the investigation and disposal of the fireworks explosion accident in Yicheng City, Hubei Province.

Around 2 p.m. on February 18th, a fireworks and firecracker retail store in Zhengji Town, Yicheng City, Xiangyang, Hubei Province experienced a detonation accident, resulting in 12 deaths. After the accident, the Ministry of Emergency Management continued to dispatch video calls, requesting the scientific organization of rescue efforts, full treatment of the injured, verification and approval of the number of casualties, and maximum reduction of casualties. The State Council Office for Safety Commission and the Ministry of Emergency Management have dispatched inspection teams to the scene to guide rescue operations and accident investigations, requesting the Hubei Provincial Government to establish an accident investigation team to conduct a thorough investigation, and to hold those responsible accountable in accordance with the law and regulations.
