Anthropic releases new AI model: significant increase in computer manipulation abilities

Anthropic PBC releases a new artificial intelligence model called Claude Sonnet 4.6, which can perform computer operations that require multiple steps, such as filling out web forms and coordinating information across multiple browser tabs. Anthropic wrote in a blog post, "In terms of operating computers, this model is still of course behind the most skilled humans. But even so, its rate of progress is still astonishing." Anthropic stated that Sonnet 4.6 performs better in defending against security threats like prompt injection attacks, which involve manipulating AI models with malicious commands.
