On February 14th local time, due to two deliberate acts of sabotage against railway cables, trains in central and southern Italy were experiencing extensive delays. Several high-speed train routes were delayed by over 1 hour, and some trains were cancelled. Italian police stated that two deliberate acts of sabotage against railway cables occurred in the outskirts of Rome on that day, and they have launched an investigation into the incidents. After emergency repairs by the Italian railway company, train services gradually resumed. This is the second time this month that the Italian railway lines have been targeted for sabotage, following an incident near the northern city of Bologna on February 7th.
