Harbin Medical University former party committee member and vice president Xu Wanhai was expelled from the party and dismissed from public office for serious violations of discipline and laws.

The Heilongjiang Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection announced on February 13th that the former Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of Harbin Medical University, and former director of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, Xu Wanhai, is under investigation for serious violations of discipline and law. This investigation is approved by the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee.
