The Ministry of Emergency Management further deployed safety prevention work before and after the Spring Festival.
On the 13th, the reporter learned from the video dispatch meeting held by the Emergency Management Department that the national security situation has been severe and complex since the beginning of this year. All localities and departments should deeply learn from recent accidents, further refine and implement various safety precautions before and after the Spring Festival, and make every effort to prevent major accidents and disasters to ensure that the people have a safe, happy, and harmonious holiday.
It is reported that a series of accidents have recently occurred, such as the explosion at Baogang in Inner Mongolia, the fire at a nursing home in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang, the collapse of a bridge in Xiangshui, Jiangsu, the explosion at an illegal chemical plant in Shanyin, Shanxi, and the tank collapse at a gold mine in Zhaoyuan, Shandong. These accidents have exposed some localities and enterprises that have not deeply learned from lessons, have taken risks without considering safety, and have delayed or concealed reporting.
This year's Spring Festival holiday is long, and the people's willingness to travel and go out is stronger. Various safety risks have significantly increased, so we must effectively carry out Spring Festival safety precautions. It is necessary to strictly manage and control fire safety in crowded places, with a focus on large integrated complexes, markets, hotels, high-rise buildings, self-built houses, hospitals, and further strengthen the safety management of nursing institutions to prevent mass casualties in fires. Coordination should be done to ensure the safety of the Spring Festival travel rush, strengthen supervision of safety on high-capacity transportation vehicles, conduct dynamic monitoring of passenger flow and risk assessment, and promote enhancing safety management in cultural and tourism sectors, strengthen on-site risk control in crowded areas such as popular tourist attractions and large event areas, and improve emergency response plans. It is necessary to crack down on illegal activities and violations, promptly organize inspections and rectifications in key areas, severely crack down on "black spots" and "small workshops" engaged in illegal production, storage and operation of hazardous chemicals, strengthen the investigation and crackdown on illegal production, sale, and storage of fireworks and firecrackers, and thoroughly inspect the safety protection devices in mines.
