Nomura analysts: Samsung expected to benefit from the increase in HBM4 prices and shipments
Nomura's C.W. Chung and Eon Hwang stated in a report that Samsung Electronics is expected to benefit from the increasing average selling price and shipments of high-bandwidth storage products. The storage chip manufacturer has already begun shipping the most advanced and faster data processing HBM4 in the industry. These analysts believe that Samsung's HBM4 products have a pricing premium potential of 30%-40%, providing a constant data processing speed of 11.7 gigabits per second. Samsung has stated that its HBM4 has a faster data processing speed than HBM3E at 9.6 Gbps, and is upgradeable to 13 Gbps. Nomura has raised its first-quarter operating profit forecast for Samsung's semiconductor business from the previous 33 trillion Korean won to 44 trillion Korean won.
