India wants to purchase "Rafale" fighter jets through a defense procurement proposal.
The Indian Defense Procurement Committee preliminarily approved a defense procurement proposal totaling 3.6 trillion rupees on the 12th, including the purchase of "Rafale" fighter jets and P-8I anti-submarine reconnaissance aircraft. According to earlier reports from Indian media on the same day, the preliminary proposal approved by the Indian Defense Committee proposed allocating 3.25 trillion rupees to purchase 114 "Rafale" fighter jets from the French manufacturer Dassault Aviation. As of now, many old fighter jets of the Indian Air Force have been retired. Previously, India had ordered nearly 180 "Tejas" fighter jets from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, but delivery has been delayed due to reasons such as a lack of engines.
