Storm "Niels" swept through the south of France on the 12th, causing 1 death and 850,000 households to lose power. French electricity grid company announced on the 12th that around 850,000 households in southern France were affected by Storm "Niels", with the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine being the most severely affected with about 485,000 households without power, and Occitania with about 318,000 households without power. According to the French Meteorological Department's announcement on the 12th, 4 provinces in France were under red alert, and 32 provinces were under orange alert.
