In 2026, the list of major construction projects in Shanghai was announced, with 22 projects basically completed.

The list of major engineering projects in Shanghai in 2026 was officially announced on the official website of the Shanghai Development and Reform Commission today. The plan includes a total of 184 official projects for the year 2026. Among them, there are 62 projects in the field of science and technology industry, 29 projects in social livelihood, 13 projects in ecological civilization construction, 68 projects in urban infrastructure, and 12 projects in rural revitalization and integration. Additionally, there are 14 planned preparatory projects. 2026 marks the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan". Out of the 184 major engineering projects scheduled for the year, 16 are planned to commence construction, and 22 are scheduled to be completed. There are currently 168 projects under construction. The total planned investment for the year is 255 billion yuan, reaching a new historical high. Among them, there are 62 projects in the science and technology industry. These projects include the construction of the national deep-sea long-term scientific observation system, the Lingang Laboratory Park project, the Pujiang Laboratory, the Lianying Medical Production R&D Base, and the Xiancen Pharmaceutical R&D Center project, among others. Planned new projects include the Deep Ocean All-Weather Anchored Floating Research Facility project, the Yanfeng Anting New Base Construction project, the Renben Bearing Global R&D Headquarters and Super Intelligent Factory project, the Yuanchuang Tech Core Components and System project, and the Jinjiang Park Renovation and Upgrade project, among others. There are 44 projects currently under construction, including the Shanghai Hard X-ray Free Electron Laser Device project, the Key Physics Technology project for the Magneto-inertial Confinement Fusion Energy System, the Industrial Base Construction project for Zhonghang Commercial Aircraft Engine Company, the Construction project for China Commercial Aircraft Corporation's Final Assembly Manufacturing Center in Pudong, and the Large-Scale Green Data Center project.
