Shanghai: By 2035, the per capita regional GDP will double compared to 2020.
The Shanghai Municipal Government Information Office launched a series of theme press conferences on the "13th Five-Year Plan" of Shanghai Municipality, releasing and interpreting the relevant plans. This morning, the first press conference of this series was held, where Wu Wei, member of the Municipal Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor, introduced the situation regarding the "Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development in Shanghai." The "Outline" focuses on the two important time nodes of 2030 and 2035, setting development goals accordingly. By 2030, the core functions of the "Five Centers" will continue to rise, with significant enhancements in global resource allocation capacity, science and technology innovation source power, high-end industry leading power, open hub gateway influence, and cultural soft power. Decisive results will be achieved in important areas and key reform areas, high-level institutional open development will make greater breakthroughs, striving to create the best practice ground for the people's city, continuously improving the quality of people's lives, and demonstrating the world's influence of a socialist modern international metropolis, with the comprehensive position of global cities continuing to advance. By 2035, the functions of Shanghai's "Five Centers" will be comprehensively upgraded, with important development indicators reaching the international leading level, the city's energy level and core competitiveness significantly improving, per capita regional GDP doubling from 2020, and basically establishing a socialist modern international metropolis with world influence.
