The State Council Information Office held a press conference today, inviting relevant officials to introduce the special activities for the 2026 "Happy Spring Festival" and the guarantee of market supply during the Spring Festival. At the press conference, it was announced that this coming Sunday will mark the longest Spring Festival holiday in history. The Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with 9 other departments, has planned the "Happy Spring Festival" special activities to promote holiday consumption with a series of high-value policy packages. The "Real Gold and Silver for Real Benefits" activity includes three major gift packages: 1. Trade-in for new items. The Ministry of Commerce, along with the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance, has allocated 62.5 billion yuan in subsidies for this year, which have already been distributed to local commerce departments. During the 9-day Spring Festival holiday, they will guide local authorities to increase subsidy distribution to ensure that consumers can receive subsidies in accordance with policy requirements. 2. Prize-winning invoices. The Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, and the State Taxation Administration have recently launched a pilot project for prize-winning invoices in 50 cities, with a total of 10 billion yuan in prize money to be distributed during the 6-month implementation period. During the 9-day Spring Festival holiday, the prize money will exceed 1 billion yuan. Consumers in pilot cities can participate in lucky draws by holding invoices with a face value of over 100 yuan for shopping, dining, tourism, accommodation, etc. 3. Financial support. The People's Bank of China and the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission will guide financial institutions and payment institutions to collaborate with businesses in various forms of "Happy Spring Festival" discount measures, covering a wide range of consumption scenarios including airports, hotels, food, dining, and attraction tickets.
