In an email sent to employees on Tuesday, Google's Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler stated that employees from certain teams within the global business organization can voluntarily resign and receive corresponding severance pay. "Thanks to all the achievements we have made in 2025, we have a strong start this year," Schindler wrote in the memo. "But the industry situation is changing rapidly, with rapid development pace, and risks and opportunities coexist." Schindler told employees in the memo that every member of the global business organization needs to "give their all for the company's mission" and "actively embrace artificial intelligence to create greater value." For employees who are "unable to adapt to the work pace we require" or "ready to leave Google," Schindler stated that the company will introduce a voluntary resignation plan for certain positions within the global business organization in the US region. Positions involved include solution teams, sales, and business development departments. Schindler said that the US large customer sales team and other customer-facing positions will not be eligible for this plan.
