The Ministry of Transport supervises and handles the collapse of the Jiangsu Lianshen Line's Yuegang Bridge arch beam.

Recently, according to the "Safety Production Warning and Listing Supervision Measures of the Ministry of Transport", the Ministry of Transport decided to implement the listing supervision on the collapse of the anchor beam of the Mengang Bridge in the navigation channel improvement project from Huangxiang River to Huai River estuary of the Lianshen Line in Jiangsu Province. On February 2nd at around 17:46, the anchor beam of the Mengang Bridge in the navigation channel improvement project from Huangxiang River to Huai River estuary of the Lianshen Line in Jiangsu Province collapsed, resulting in 5 deaths. The construction unit is Jiangsu Port and Navigation Investment Development Co., Ltd., the construction unit is China Railway 12th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., the design unit is Huashe Design Group Co., Ltd., and the supervision units are Jiangsu Rentong Project Management Co., Ltd and Jiangsu Runhua Engineering Management Co., Ltd. The supervision requires the local transportation authorities to organize experts to quickly determine the relevant reasons according to their responsibilities, focus on rectifying the problems, punish the responsible units and individuals in accordance with the law and regulations, deeply learn from the accident, conduct in-depth inspection and rectification of hidden risks, effectively strengthen the safety responsibilities of all parties involved in construction, and resolutely prevent and control the occurrence of mass casualty accidents.
