On February 8th, local time, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated that in the past week, three medical health facilities in South Kordofan State, South Sudan, were attacked, resulting in 31 deaths and 19 injuries. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus posted on social media that on February 3rd, 4th, and 5th, a hospital was attacked on each day, resulting in serious casualties, including women and children. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that the best medicine is peace and called for all parties involved in the armed conflict in Sudan to immediately stop the violence and protect the safety of civilians and medical facilities.
