Baidu's AI generated false criminal information about others, the case goes to court, Baidu defends itself: It is AI hallucination, not intentional actions.

Lawyer Huang Guigeng from Beijing sued Beijing Baidu Network Technology Co. Ltd. for infringing on his reputation by generating false crime information using Baidu AI and sought one million yuan in compensation. On February 6, the first trial of the case was held in the People's Court of Haidian District, Beijing. Baidu stated in their defense that the AI hallucination is an inevitable problem in product development and does not constitute direct or indirect infringement.
