Haikou opens the first fifth freedom passenger route in 2026.

Last night, Haikou Meilan International Airport welcomed the opening of the first Fifth Freedom Traffic Rights passenger route of the year - the Frankfurt-Bangkok-Haikou route. This route is operated by German Condor Airlines, using Airbus A330 aircraft, with one flight each on Mondays and Fridays. "Fifth Freedom Traffic Rights" refer to the rights of an airline from one country to operate services between two other countries as part of a flight to/from its own country. These rights allow airlines to stop at a third country to load/unload passengers and cargo. The Fifth Freedom rights can help airlines expand their route networks, increase revenue, and provide passengers with the opportunity to experience international flight services.
