Norwegian agencies concoct the so-called "China threat" narrative, Chinese embassy in Norway: Ignoring right and wrong harms Norway's own interests.

The Chinese Embassy in Norway has taken note of the multiple annual threat assessment reports released by the Norwegian Police Security Service, National Intelligence Service, and National Security Authority, once again fabricating the so-called "China threat" narrative based on speculation and imagination, full of clichs and not worth refuting. The content related to China is seriously inconsistent with the actual situation, going against the overall trend of Sino-Norwegian relations. We strongly express our dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to this. China has always firmly defended the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, upheld international fairness and justice, respected the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, and taken it as its mission to maintain world peace and development, never seeking to expand its influence and never targeting Norway. The facts are clear and recognized by the international community. Faced with the changes and dominance of a century, countries should cooperate and meet challenges together. Unfortunately, certain Norwegian institutions persist in their erroneous stance, viewing China through colored glasses, deceiving people under the guise of "security," provoking confrontation, and undermining cooperation between the two countries. This approach disregards what is right and wrong, is unprofessional, and damages Norway's own interests. Division and confrontation have no way out, solidarity and cooperation are the correct choices. We urge the relevant Norwegian institutions to recognize the global situation and trends, immediately stop spreading rumors and smearing, and change their approach to inject positive energy into the development of Sino-Norwegian relations.
