Beijing announces 27 practical measures to be implemented in 2026, covering the top ten areas of people's livelihoods.

Recently, the "Important Livelihood Projects in Beijing in 2026" were officially announced, with a total of 27 projects planned for the year. These projects cover ten major areas including childcare, assistance for the vulnerable and disabled, and convenient living, aiming to meet the new expectations of citizens for a better life and promote the development of the capital city to a new level in the new era. In terms of elderly care, the plan includes the construction of 20 new community elderly care service centers in areas with a large number of elderly people, as well as the addition of 5000 home care beds. For childcare, the plan includes the expansion of 50 kindergartens to add 1000 more places for 2-3 year olds and an additional 5000 places for primary and secondary school students. Of particular note, vision screening and myopia risk assessment will be conducted for 134,000 kindergarten children in Beijing.
