The Silicon Division of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association issued a statement saying that due to weak downstream demand, the silicon wafer market has been sluggish this week, with prices under pressure. Specifically, terminal installation demand has remained weak, coupled with the rise in silver prices leading to high cost pressures for downstream battery companies. The industry is filled with pessimism, with significant production cuts leading to a noticeable contraction in silicon wafer procurement demand.
