Semiconductor giant Infineon announced a price increase notice, stating that due to the continuing tight supply of power switches and related chips, as well as the rising costs of raw materials and infrastructure, the company will adjust the prices of these products starting from April 1, 2026. Infineon stated in the notice that there has been significant demand growth in the semiconductor market for some of its products, mainly driven by the large deployment of artificial intelligence data centers, leading to shortages of certain power switches and related chips. In order to support the growing demand, Infineon needs to make significant additional investments to expand wafer fab capacity. Additionally, the company is also facing increases in raw material and infrastructure costs.
