The State Council Taiwan Affairs Office held a routine press conference. A reporter asked: Zheng Liwen recently stated in an interview that creating peace across the strait is the most important mission, and she plans to visit the mainland in the first half of this year. What is your comment on this? Spokesperson Chen Binhua said, we are willing to strengthen exchanges and interactions with the Kuomintang at all levels on the basis of adhering to the "1992 Consensus" and opposing "Taiwan independence", enhance political mutual trust, maintain positive interactions, seek peace in the Taiwan Strait, seek well-being for compatriots, and seek revival for the nation. Peace is the common pursuit of both sides of the strait, and reunification is the only future for Taiwan. People on both sides of the strait are one family, and of course, family matters should be discussed and handled by the family members. Chinese people on both sides of the strait should bear the national righteousness together, follow the historical trend, jointly promote the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, and advance the great cause of national reunification.
