Competition between OpenAI and Anthropic intensifies once again. Local time on Wednesday, Anthropic placed an advertisement during the "Super Bowl", mocking OpenAI's plan to introduce advertisements for ChatGPT and emphasizing that their own Claude chatbot will remain "ad-free". OpenAI CEO Sam Altman responded with a long post on social media, accusing Anthropic of being "clearly dishonest" in their description of OpenAI's advertising model, and taking the opportunity to promote OpenAI's free access concept and developer tools. Altman also criticized Anthropic's overall strategy, claiming they offer expensive products for the wealthy and have a tendency for control, such as restricting certain companies from using their coding tools, and attempting to unilaterally define AI usage rules. Altman concluded, saying: "We will continue to work hard to provide users with more intelligent services at increasingly lower prices. This era belongs to builders, not those who seek to control them."
