Report: India's oil imports from Russia decreased by 9% month-on-month in January.
According to reports, under the pressure of Western sanctions and the continuous progress of US-India trade negotiations, Indian oil refiners are turning to seek more alternative crude oil supplies. India's Russian crude oil imports in January continued to decline, following the trend since December. Temporary data from analytics company Platts shows that India's daily imports of Russian crude oil in January were 1.215 million barrels. Among them, Nayara refinery imported 410,000 barrels per day, Indian Oil Corporation imported 580,000 barrels per day, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation imported 190,000 barrels per day. Reliance Industries did not import any Russian crude oil last month. It is estimated that India's daily imports of Russian crude oil in January decreased by about 9% compared to December last year. The daily Russian oil imports in December last year had already decreased by about 22% compared to November, dropping to 1.38 million barrels.
