Gold mining companies like Newmont rose by 4.0%, Barrick Mining by 4.3%, Agnico Eagle Mines by 3.8%, Franco-Nevada by 2.1%, Kinross Gold by 4.4%, and New Gold by 5.2%. Silver mining companies such as Coeur Mining rose by 6.0%, Endeavour Silver by 5.7%, Pan American Silver by 5.7%, and Silvercorp Metals by 5.0%. The spot price of gold briefly rose by 6.2%, and the spot price of silver briefly rose by 12%.
