Main expected goals for Sichuan's development in 2026: regional GDP to grow by around 5.5%
The fifth session of the Fourteenth People's Congress of Sichuan Province opened on the morning of February 3. The meeting heard the work report made by Governor Shi Xiaolin on behalf of the provincial peoples government. The main expected targets for economic and social development in the province this year are: regional GDP growth of around 5.5%; 850,000 new urban jobs, with an urban surveyed unemployment rate of around 5.5%; a consumer price increase of around 2%; a 2% increase in local general public budget revenue, with residents' income growth basically in sync with economic growth, and a grain output of over 73 billion kilograms; and completion of energy conservation, emission reduction, and carbon reduction tasks in accordance with national requirements.
