Publication of Mandatory National Standard on Car Door Handle Safety

On the 2nd, it was learned that the mandatory national standard "Technical Requirements for the Safety of Automotive Door Handles" organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was recently approved and issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Standardization Administration Committee, and will be implemented starting from January 1, 2027. According to the introduction, this standard clearly specifies the mechanical release configuration requirements for door handles, requirements for opening doors, layout areas, operating space, as well as requirements for door handle symbols and operating instructions, focusing on solving the inconvenience of operating the external door handle and being unable to open it after an accident. Problems such as poor convenience of operating the internal door handle, loss of function in some scenarios, and poor recognition of the internal door handle.
