According to the China Electricity Council, by 2025, the total investment in national power grid construction will reach 639.5 billion yuan, an increase of 5.1% compared to the previous year. In recent years, the construction of large-scale wind and solar bases has driven rapid growth in investment in ultra-high voltage direct current transmission channel projects, with direct current project investment increasing by 25.7% year-on-year in 2025; alternating current project investment increasing by 4.7% year-on-year. In 2025, the length of new 220kV and above transmission lines nationwide will be 47,529 kilometers, with 13,814 kilometers more put into operation compared to the previous year. In addition, the volume of electricity transmitted across regions and provinces is growing rapidly. In 2025, the national volume of electricity transmitted across regions will reach 998.4 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 7.9% year-on-year; the volume of electricity transmitted across provinces will reach 2,123.7 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year. The net output of electricity in Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Shanxi, Xinjiang, and Sichuan provinces exceeds 100 billion kilowatt hours.
