Khartoum International Airport welcomes its first commercial passenger flight in nearly 3 years.
Sudan Airways, a commercial flight carrying 160 passengers, landed at Khartoum International Airport on February 1st. This is the first commercial passenger flight to arrive at Khartoum International Airport in nearly 3 years since the outbreak of domestic armed conflict in Sudan. Sudan Airways' Chief Operating Officer, Mohamed Gafar Hassan, said on the 1st that the flight took off from the eastern Sudanese city of Port Sudan and safely landed at Khartoum International Airport, marking the official reopening of the airport.
