All towns and 95% of administrative villages nationwide have been connected to 5G.

In 2025, China will accelerate the construction of new infrastructure in rural and remote areas, with 5G network coverage in all towns and 95% of administrative villages nationwide, providing solid support for speeding up agricultural and rural modernization and promoting comprehensive rural revitalization. Data shows that since 2015, China has supported the construction of fiber optic networks in 130,000 administrative villages nationwide and the construction of nearly 110,000 4G and 5G base stations in rural and remote areas. Currently, the number of rural broadband access users in China has exceeded 200 million households, with a rural internet penetration rate of over 69%. The internet access rate for primary and secondary schools nationwide has reached 100%, and remote medical services networks have covered all cities and counties, fundamentally solving the communication difficulties in remote areas. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China will continue to carry out the special action of "upgrading signals", accelerate the construction of new infrastructure in rural and remote areas, enabling rural agriculture and farmers to use more advanced network capabilities and more inclusive telecommunications services, promote the digital transformation of rural agriculture, and provide basic support for promoting comprehensive rural revitalization.
