Mainland games are heating up the Taipei gaming expo.
The Taipei International Gaming Show in 2026 will be held from January 29th to February 1st at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, attracting 399 manufacturers with over 500 games on display. Among them, games from mainland China such as "Ming Chao," "Arknights: Terminal," "Last Zero Zone," and "Escape from Moscow" were highly welcomed by Taiwanese players, creating a hot atmosphere in the exhibition area. Mainland Chinese games not only impressed Taiwanese players with their novelty, but the shared Chinese traditional culture also served as a "golden sign" attracting players from the island. Many games at the gaming show focused on elements of Chinese traditional culture such as the Three Kingdoms history and martial arts spirit, using mini-games like the sliding puzzle game "Huarong Road" to attract visitors. A recent editorial in the Taiwanese newspaper "Want Daily" titled "The Rise of Mainland Chinese Games is the Achievement of Chinese Culture" pointed out that the mainland Chinese gaming industry has entered a leading position in the world. The article mentioned that the rise of the mainland Chinese gaming industry is not only due to its exquisite graphics and innovative gameplay, but also the high-quality content with cultural characteristics that moved players, showcasing the charm of Chinese culture to the world.
