The United States approved a $90 billion arms sale plan to Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement released on the 30th by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, a subordinate agency of the US Department of Defense, the US State Department has approved a military sale package to Saudi Arabia, including 730 "Patriot" missiles and related equipment, with a total value of $9 billion. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency stated in the announcement that these 730 "Patriot" missiles are the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile segment enhancement. This military sale will enhance the protection of ground forces in Saudi Arabia, the United States, and its allies, and support US diplomatic and national security objectives in the Gulf region. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency also confirmed on the same day that the US State Department has approved a total of $6.67 billion in a large-scale military sale package to Israel, including 30 "Apache" attack helicopters and 3,250 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles.
