On July 29, the head of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant, operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company, said that there was a problem with the combination settings between the inverter and drive control rod, which may have triggered the alarm after the restart of the reactor of Unit 6 at the nuclear power plant. The Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant, located in Niigata Prefecture, is the largest nuclear power plant in Japan. Unit 6 of the nuclear power plant was restarted on July 21, but an alarm sounded during the process of removing the control rods from the reactor in the early hours of July 22. To investigate the cause of the malfunction, Tokyo Electric Power Company decided to temporarily shut down Unit 6 on July 22.
