A major safety hazard was discovered at a gold mine in Xingren, Guizhou, and the municipal safety commission has put it under special supervision.

The Office of the Work Safety Committee of Xingren City, Guizhou Province announced on January 28, 2026 that the major accident hidden dangers at the Taipingdong Gold Mine of Guizhou Xinhengji Mining Co., Ltd. are being supervised and rectified. The announcement stated that on January 22, 2026, during an inspection of non-coal mines in Xingren City, the Guizhou Bureau of the National Mine Safety Supervision Administration found major accident hidden dangers at the Taipingdong Gold Mine of Guizhou Xinhengji Mining Co., Ltd. In order to effectively rectify the major accident hidden dangers and ensure the stable situation of work safety production in the city, the major accident hidden dangers at the Taipingdong Gold Mine of Guizhou Xinhengji Mining Co., Ltd. is now being supervised and rectified as per the relevant regulations of the "Guizhou Province Work Safety Major Accident Hidden Dangers Supervision and Rectification System".
