China Railway Group: The policy of allowing free ticket refunds for mistaken purchases will be implemented as a regular practice
On January 29th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the Spring Festival transportation situation and work arrangements for 2026. Zhu Wenzhong, head of the China Railway Corporation Passenger Transport Department, stated that for the first time during this year's Spring Festival travel period, a new policy of limited time free ticket refunds for internet mispurchases will be implemented. Passengers who purchase tickets on the 12306 app due to time constraints, failure to read clearly, or other reasons that result in a mispurchase, can receive a refund within 30 minutes of successful payment and at least 4 hours before the train's departure without any refund fees. This policy is expected to become a regular practice in the future.
