According to industry sources, on January 26th, the patent pool Tulip Innovation Management Agency, established by South Korea's LG New Energy and Japan's Panasonic Energy, claimed that Xinwangda's lithium-ion battery cells and the hybrid SUV provided to Geely Cars infringed on a patent in its battery licensing program. The Korean Fair Trade Commission has initiated a relevant case based on Tulip Innovation's complaint.
