Market rumors suggest that Ideal Cars will initiate a new round of organizational restructuring, focusing on reorganizing the research and development system. It is reported that Ideal Cars will restructure the research and development system into three major teams: the base model team, the software core team, and the hardware core team, with the main focus of the restructuring being the split of the autonomous driving team. An insider revealed that the former Senior Vice President of Autonomous Driving, Lang Xianpeng, will become the head of the hardware core team and will be mainly responsible for robot development, reporting to Ideal Cars CEO Ma Donghui. Lang Xianpeng will no longer be responsible for autonomous driving. The autonomous driving team will be merged into the software core team led by Guo Xiaofei, Vice President of Ideal Intelligent Space. After this reorganization, Guo Xiaofei will oversee the development of Ideal Intelligent Cockpit and Intelligent Driving, reporting to Ma Donghui. Additionally, Zhan Kun will lead the base model team and will be responsible for the integration of VLA and self-developed chips, reporting to Ideal Cars CTO Xie Yan. This adjustment was foreshadowed earlier, as Ideal Cars founder and CEO Li Xiang stated in an internal meeting this week that the restructuring of the research and development team is in response to the new round of AI competition. During the third quarter of 2025 financial report conference call, Li Xiang mentioned that embodied intelligence will be the core competency of Ideal in the next ten years. He stated that the era of embodied intelligent robots officially begins with car robots, and the trillion-dollar revenue is just the beginning.
