Tesla's European market is cooling down. Tesla's sales in the European Union have plummeted.
Statistics released by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association on the 27th showed that in the full year of 2025, Tesla's new car registrations in Europe amounted to 238,656, a decrease of 26.9% compared to the previous year. Within the European Union, Tesla's new car registrations in 2025 decreased by 37.9% compared to the previous year, with its market share dropping from 2.3% in 2024 to 1.4%. Since 2025, transatlantic relations have continued to be strained due to US President Trump's repeated threats to increase tariffs on the EU, as well as his attempt to acquire Greenland. As Trump has a close relationship with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the electric car company has faced resistance from many European consumers in the past year, leading to a continuous decline in sales performance.
