It was learned from a routine press conference held by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment that by 2025, China's environmental air quality and surface water quality will continue to improve. According to the introduction, in terms of environmental air quality, the average concentration of PM2.5 in 339 cities at or above the prefecture level nationwide is 28.0 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 4.4%; the average concentration of PM10 is 48 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 2.0%. The proportion of days with good air quality on average is 89.3%, an increase of 1.9 percentage points year-on-year; the proportion of days with heavy or severe pollution is 0.9%, the same as last year. In key areas, the average concentration of PM2.5 in the "2+36" cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding regions is 37.3 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 11.6%; the average proportion of days with good air quality is 73.8%, an increase of 5.5 percentage points year-on-year. In the Yangtze River Delta region, the average concentration of PM2.5 in 31 cities is 31.7 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 3.9%; the average proportion of days with good air quality is 82.7%, an increase of 0.6 percentage points year-on-year. In the Fen-Wei Plain, the average concentration of PM2.5 in 13 cities is 33.7 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 14.9%; the average proportion of days with good air quality is 77.5%, an increase of 7.0 percentage points year-on-year. In terms of surface water quality, among the 3641 national surface water assessment sections, the proportion of good water quality sections is 91.4%, an increase of 1.0 percentage point year-on-year; the proportion of class V sections remains the same at 0.6%. Among them, in the seven major river basins of the Yangtze River, Yellow River, Pearl River, Songhua River, Huai River, Hai River, and Liao River, as well as various rivers in the northwest, southwest, and Zhejiang-Fujian regions, the proportion of good water quality sections is 93.0%, an increase of 0.6 percentage points year-on-year; the proportion of class V sections is 0.4%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points year-on-year. Among the 209 key lakes monitored, the proportion of lakes with good water quality is 78.5%, an increase of 1.4 percentage points year-on-year; the proportion of lakes with class V water quality is 3.3%, a decrease of 1.0 percentage point year-on-year.
