Spot silver rose more than 8.7%

On Tuesday in late New York trading, spot silver rose by 8.75% to $112.8775 per ounce, approaching the daily high of $113.4586 and the historical high of $117.7132 set on the previous trading day at 15:45 Beijing time. COMEX silver futures rose by 2.28% to $112.85 per ounce. COMEX copper futures rose by 0.64% to $5.9440 per pound. Spot platinum rose by 1.95% to $2641.03 per ounce; spot palladium fell by 1.52% to $1932.75 per ounce.
