The EU demands that Google opens up AI services and data access to competitors.
In the latest round of regulatory actions targeting large tech companies, the European Union has demanded that Google remove technical barriers that hinder competition from rival AI search assistants within the Android system within six months, and provide key data to other search engines. The EU regulatory agency announced based on its flagship regulation "Digital Markets Act" that it will evaluate whether Google is complying with strict regulations on the interoperability of the Android system with competitive artificial intelligence software, and the opening of valuable search data to rival search engines on fair conditions. Although this measure has not yet constituted a formal investigation, the EU hopes to put pressure on Google to redesign related services, allowing competitors to access the Android operating system and Google's valuable search data. The regulatory agency headquartered in Brussels has given Google a six-month period for rectification, or it will face possible future penalties.
