Corning CEO: Meta promises to pay Corning $6 billion before 2030 for the purchase of fiber optic cables for AI data centers.
According to reports, Corning Inc. CEO Wendell Weeks stated that Meta has committed to pay up to $6 billion to Corning by 2030 for the purchase of fiber optic cables for its artificial intelligence data centers. In order to meet the growing demand from Meta, as well as other tech giants like Nvidia, OpenAI, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, Corning is expanding the factory. Corning stated that once the project is completed, it will become the largest fiber optic cable factory in the world.
