Since 2026, Hong Kong-listed companies have continued to actively conduct buybacks, with large buybacks occurring frequently. According to Wind data, as of January 26, 112 Hong Kong-listed companies have conducted buybacks since 2026, with a total of 413 million shares repurchased and a total buyback amount of HKD 12.077 billion. In the same period in 2025, a total of 123 Hong Kong-listed companies repurchased 796 million shares, with a total buyback amount of HKD 24.375 billion. Overall, the number of shares repurchased and the total amount of buybacks have decreased slightly, but over 110 listed companies have participated in buybacks, indicating that the enthusiasm for buybacks by Hong Kong-listed companies has not diminished after the rise in the Hong Kong stock market in 2025.
