Trump's statement on increasing tariffs leads to a decline in South Korean car manufacturers' stock prices.
South Korean automobile stocks led by Hyundai Motor fell, following President Trump's threat to impose new tariffs. Hyundai Motor's stock price dropped 4% at Tuesday's opening, after President Trump announced on social media that he will increase tariffs on South Korean goods, including cars, from 15% to 25%. Kia Corporation, a sister company of Hyundai, and affiliate Hyundai Mobis also saw their stock prices fall by around 3.4% and 5% respectively.
