German politician calls for the withdrawal of over 1,200 tons of gold from the United States.
According to German media reports on the 23rd, German MP Strack-Zimmermann called on the German federal government to withdraw the gold reserves stored in the United States. She stated that in the current global uncertainty and unpredictability of US policy, the practice of storing around 37% of Germany's gold reserves in New York is no longer reasonable. For decades, Germany has stored over 1200 tons of gold reserves in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in Manhattan. Currently, about half of Germany's gold is held in its own financial center in Frankfurt, with another 13% stored in the capital of the United Kingdom, London.
